Information on new GPS units Coming to Needfultoyz!

Ok first off I am going to be talking about Mio brand GPS systems I saw this year at CES 2008. Yes yes, I could go off on the 150” Plasma TV that Panasonic had displayed, or the ultra slim plasmas (less than 1” thick) that are coming out this year.

Or I could talk about SONY and the 11”OLED display tv which is millimeters thick! Did I mention this is available NOW for a mere $2200 bucks. Why spend $2200 for Sonys OLED display when you can get OLED technology now with PLX Devices DM-100 display gauge at Needfultoyz.com for less than a third of that. How about the DLP technology that lets you view any movie in 3D!!! oh my gawd! Whew….. alright back to what’s important this year for many consumers. Mobile GPS.

This year Mio Technology Corporation announced at the CES show, that they will merge Navman and the Mio brands. With the merger both organizations have two complementary products that will deliver a highly exceptional product for navigation, because of this
Needful Toyz will be carrying them!

Mio brings the core GPS components while Navman brings the expertise in software and content. Navman is premier GPS software that has one innovative product. Navman brand is a premier supplier already in other select markets of the UK, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. Now Needfultoyz here in the USA will be onboard.

What’s new? Many of these new units for 2008 include touchscreen, Bluetooth hands free calling and data connection to the web, and a very slim 17 mm or so form factors, MP3, Video players, photo viewers, integrated digital cameras.

The pictures taken with the GPS unit are “geo coded” so you can view them on such websites as Google Earth or Microsoft’s internet mapping. Very cool.

Text-to-speech functionality delivers timely voice prompts, calling out actual street names when making turns – “right turn onto Main Street” instead of “right-turn in 500 yards” – helping drivers keep their eyes on the road while driving.

Also with these new products Mio has unleashed its “MioMore” Online connected service. This service gives online users access to real-time information such as local searches, traffic and weather on your screen!! Nice. These kind of features can only be found on top brands such as Magellan, and Tom Tom for sometimes upwards of $1000. Kind of ridiculous I think to pay that much for a brand name, when you can get all the hot features and awesome build quality of Mio.

So lets do a breakdown of new products as well as go over the existing lineup. All of Mio’s products are SLIM. Not those chunky GPS you are use to seeing in the states. The UK has had GPS units for much longer and they got the hot products.

Mio Move 3.5” – This is the prototype for the new 3.5” model due out sometime this year. Needfultoyz will have it. Its Mio’s new direction in GPS.

Mio Move 4.3” – You guessed it. 4.3 inch widescreen beauty! Larger and easy to navigate like the rest. Its also due this year soon.

C230 - This is the entry level and affordable 3.5” touch screen navigation device. No frills and ready for the road. At an MSRP of $249.95 its sweet!

C520 – Large 4.3” wide touch screen mobile device with MP3, Video and Photo viewers. Great proven system that is one of the most popular around.
C720t – Another 4.3” widescreen, but upgraded with desired features including MP3, Video player, and a 2 Mega pixel camera. Great for if you get in an accident and need to document the incident for insurance purposes.

This wraps up my visit with Mio Technology and one of the hottest and well constructed GPS device I have seen period.
